Chassis Problem Repair Tip
12.1  Channels are shifting  Check and replace C961-C403-C460-C461-R453-R454-R455  
12.1  In some scenes, the CPT seems to have low emission  Check 2nF on C806 pos. 
12.1  Sound is distorted  Check 10nF on C107 pos.

12.3  Defected horizontal transistor BU808DFI (T552).  Add another 82R 3W resistor in parallel to the 82R 3W (110823) on position R554.  
12.3  Whistling sound  Check and replace Linearity coil L551 
12.3  In some scenes, the CPT seems to have low emission  Check 2nF on C705 pos. 
12.3  A low amplitude whistle sound (typically 2-3 kHz) can be heard from speakers at near distance.  1) Replace 12K resistor on position R329 (connected to pin 9 of IC317) with 10K resistor 2) Replace 12K resistor on position R330 (connected to pin 9 of IC318) with 15K resistor.  
12.3  Defected TDA6107 on CRT module  Please apply TCN 2002/10 
12.3  Brightness of the picture changes constantly like flashing  Separate the 4 pin cable (which goes from Stereo module to main chassis) from Video IC and RGB cable (which goes to CRT module). In this way, the interference is minimized.

12.5  Position of teletext / OSD is not correct after replacing IC401 (from MB7120-03 to MB7120-04 or 06)  Enter service menu - Press green button to enter Geometry Menu - Adjust the window when OSDH and OSDV items selected (change value of these items). 
12.5  Defected TDA6107 on CRT module  Please apply TCN 2002/08 
12.5  When TV is adjusted 16:9 mode, shading can be seen on top of the screen.   Replace R504 (470 R 1/2W) resistor with 220R 1/2W resistor. (This modification will be done TV sets for 20” SAMSUNG CPT’s .) - Replace R504 with 270R 1/2W resistor for other CPT’s.

12.6  Jitter during max volume  The value of R624 was changed from 0Ω to 820Ω (parts code 171824).

12.7  How smart loader (G70520) works for Hotel mode  Please read 12.7 Hotel Mode + Smart Loader.doc*** Requirement: It should be produced as Hotel TV 1) Is Eeprom 24C16? 2) Is I2C connection to the Scart port available? Otherwise apply:- Connect a cable between Pin 10 of SCART and connection point of R470 and D407 (SDA) - Connect a cable between the pin 12 of SCART and connection point of R469 and D406 (SCL)  
12.7  “9301” code does not work for entering service mode  Try “8500” code (SW can be 12.8).  
12.7  Some malfunctioning will be encountered in channel frequency setup, when Hotel option is changed to “Hotel TV” in Service Mode.  This is due to Eeprom capacity. For Hotel mode usage, the eeprom in IC402 must be changed to AT24C16N SC2.7 (452662) from AT24C08N-10SI-2.7 (453031-01)

12.8  Horizontal syncronization is not good and no OSD  Check 1nF C410  
12.8  Microprocessor spare parts codes in the service manual are not correct  Please see TCN 2003/04 
12.8  The picture is shifted towards the right of the screen when TV is turned on (There is black band on the screen). The defect disappears after a few minutes.  Replace BU808DFI on position T552. The problem is due to a quality problem of BU808DFI for a small period.  
12.8  Some malfunctioning will be encountered in channel frequency setup, when Hotel option is changed to “Hotel TV” in Service Mode.  This is due to Eeprom capacity. For Hotel mode usage, the eeprom in IC402 must be changed to BR24C16F (452637) from AT24C04N (453002). 
12.8  For Secam DK versions: STV2249C defected (No sound)  1. Replace STV2249C (452990) 2. Remove J143 (jumper) and insert 1K 1/4W resistor in that position  
12.8  Defected TDA6107 on CRT module  Please apply TCN 2002/

14.2  TV can not enter service mode by service remote control  With the following software versions onwards, to enter service menu, first activate the “Picture Menu” with the user remote control and press “9301” (Press “0” button to exit the Service Mode). Stereo versions : SB8973-A02, SB8975-A02 (For B,C and D versions will be apllied in time). Mono versions : SC3325-A05, SC3325-B07, SC3325-C06, SC3325-D05  
14.2  Defected horizontal transistor BU508DF (T504).   Check and replace C129 - 2.2nF on pin 11 of IC101  
14.2  No sound   Check and replace C178 - 4.7nF on pin 26 of IC101  
14.2  No picture   Check and replace R162 -47R connected to +8V  
14.2  Is Hotel Mode available  Not available. Hotel mode in service mode is for application only. 
14.2  If the unit is in power off state long enough (for example over night) then always when you switch it on, the complete upper part of the picture is messed up and fuzzy.  Please check and replace vertical IC, TDA8359J on position IC501. 
14.2  Coloured spots on the corners (Degaussing problem)  Please replace 9R PTC on R602 with two 18R PTC’s (code 154222) in parallel.

20.2  Coloured spots on the corners (Degaussing problem)  Please replace 9R PTC on R108 with two 18R PTC’s (code 154222) in parallel.  
20.2  Yellowish spots on Teletext (Local Dooming)  In the service menu , options 2, there are NVM-edit address, NVM-edit data. For the text contrast the address is "5F6" and value must be "33". If it is not "33", please set this value. Even this value is "33" but text contrast is high, you can decrease this value up to "25". 
20.2  Q204 horizontal transistor, R210, R218, R206, R222 are damaged  Replace R206 with RW 47R J 7W (120472) and R222 with RWF 1K J 1.5W (122114) 
20.2  TV shuts off intermittently   1. Fasten the connectors of Featurebox, uP/IF (CN501B, CN502B) and I/O Scart modules 2. Resolder Vprot (Vertical protection) line from IC201 (vertical IC on main chassis) to pin 11 of IC804 (DDP on Featurebox) 3. Resolder pin 2 (+10v) and pin 4 (-10v) of IC201 (vertical IC) 4. Check H-driver circuit (C205, R205, TR201, Q203 etc.) 5. Check and replace R158 (0.1R) and R161 (0.1R) on SMPS outputs.  
20.2  Options are not complete in the service manual (Tuner Type, etc.)  Please see TCN 2002/09 
20.2  Adjustments are not available in the service manual (supply voltage, AGC, IF)  Please see TCN 2002/09 
20.2  Set can not be switched on from standby. Defect of fuse resistors 0.1R 0.4W of position R158 and R161   Replace 0.1R 1/4W (119109 ) resistors of positions R158 and R161 to 0.1R 0.25W (119113).  
20.2  TV enters Service Menu randomly  Replace IC503 with SW version SBC256_05 (452286) 
20.2  During switch off, SPOTS can be seen in the middle of screen  Replace C930 (2.2 uF/250V) capacitor on CRT board with 4.7 uF/250V capacitor.  
20.2  Poor color and contrast  1) Remove R922-R927-R933 (43K 1/2W) resistor and insert 47K 1W resistor. 2) EnterVIDEO adjustments in service menu with service RC. - Increase RED DRIVE-GREEN DRIVE-BLUE DRIVE values “+3 “ then the factory presets. - Increase BCL THRESHOLD value “+1” then the factory presets.
